Sometimes we ... and when I say we I mean I....feel like there are so many things to be doing in life, and I don't read my scriptures like I should. Last night, I read Enos...and I was so glad that I did! He was a stud for sure. He was in the woods, and suddenly his father's words popped into his head, and he decided to start praying...(See? I told you!) Who really stops in the MIDDLE of doing something important, and prays for a remission of their sins? I love his example.
13 And
now behold, this was the desire which I desired of him—that if it
should so be, that my people, the Nephites, should fall into
transgression, and by any means be destroyed, and the Lamanites should not be destroyed, that the Lord God would preserve a record of my people, the Nephites; even if it so be by the power of his holy arm, that it might be brought forth at some future day unto the Lamanites, that, perhaps, they might be brought unto salvation—
The cool thing about it is that the Lord TOTALLY answered this prayer of Enos'! Maybe Enos had the Spirit, so he knew what the Lord's will was, and knew what to ask, or maybe he was just righteous enough to want what he knew the Lord would want as well! Pretty awesome that Enos prayed for the people to live about 800 years after him! If that doesn't build your faith, I don't know what will!!
Thanks for your thought!! It definitely inspires us to 'pray with real intent'!
